I’ve been staring at the caveman from the Minifig Collection, Series 1 for some time now thinking, I should build something Flintstones related. So I played around with the fig and found a Fred and Barney that I’m happy with. And I started doing some sketches of a house and car to make a simple scene with — I was doodling stars and octopi for some reason as well. Anyway, so in my head, I have and idea of how to build the scene in LEGO… and I’ve also been tossing the idea around to build it for Festival of the Masters (FotM) coming up in November.<\/p>\n

The theme for FotM is “Movie Moments”… I’m sure there’s been a Flintstones movie, or even a Flintstones meet the Jetsons movie somewhere, so I’m thinking I can get away with it. But I’m not 100% sold on the idea… Oh, and I do have some dinosaurs to put into the scene as well; but I’d prefer to have the Duplo ones, they look more cartoony…<\/p>\n

Anyway, if you look on Google<\/a> today, it’s the 50th anniversary of the Flintstones<\/a>… How’s that for a coincidence?<\/p>\n

Update: So 9 years later, the idea I was toying with was made into a set — https:\/\/shop.lego.com\/en-US\/product\/The-Flintstones-21316<\/a> — funny.\u00a0 Too bad it’s just an LEGO\u00ae Ideas set and not a whole series of sets.<\/p>\n\n
